The Ideal Vessel To Lead Your Watch Fleet

I wanted to mark the milestone that was my 30th birthday with the purchase of a truly exceptional watch. A watch that I could look back on 30 years from now and feel that it represented a turning point in my life, into becoming an adult. For this mission to be accomplished, I had to find the perfect wristwatch that married both form and function, dressiness and everyday versatility. I searched far and wide, on countless watch platforms, read a plethora of reviews, and ultimately found my pearl in the ocean.

The Longines Flagship Heritage emerged from the fog of the internet, as the ideal candidate for my next watch. Coming in under $2000 new (thank you Chrono24), and hitting every single point on my checklist; dressy, vintage-inspired, gilt hands, complication, and a leather strap, the Flagship was definitely going to be the next star in my collection. Not to mention that it also boasted a 38.5mm case, L615 caliber automatic movement, and a sapphire crystal.

The brand Longines has a very rich history, dating back to 1832, and was a pioneer of many technologies and style aesthetics present in modern watchmaking today. Thus, not only did this particular watch boast amazing specs, but it had the heritage to back it up. Pictures do not do it justice, the cream coloured dial plays with the light as you rotate your wrist, and the case-back is absolutely mind-blowing. Adorned with an applied medallion showcasing a delicately intricate sea vessel, this case-back is truly one to see in the metal.

Pound for pound, there is no other watch that comes close to the Longines Flagship Heritage. I cannot wait to see what parts of the world this watch will help me navigate to, and is definitely a watch that I would feel proud to pass down onto the next generation.
